Anti-social behaviour (ASB) is ally activity that impacts on other people in a negative way. Despite of a 39 % drop (1)______ in the incidence of crime since 1995, anti-social behaviour remains a serious issue with around 66,000 reports of ASB made to authorities each day. We are making progress, however. A number of people who (2)______ think ASB is a big or fairly big problem has reduced from 20.7% in 2002 to 16.7% at the end of 2004, so (3)______ there still is much more we can be doing together to tackle with the problem. ASB includes a variety of (4)______ behaviour covering a whole complex of selfish and unacceptable activity that can blight the quality of community life. Anti-social behaviour doesn’t just make life unpleasant. It holds back the regeneration of disadvantaged areas and creates an environment more serious crime (5)______ can take hold. Many factors have been identified that, while they do not cause anti-social behaviour, do increase the risk of their happening. (6)______ Four main factors have been identified: family environment, educational retainment, community life, personal and (7)______ individual factors. Most types of anti-social behaviour fit one (8)______ of three categories: street problems, nuisance neighbours or environmental crime. These categories cover a broad range of conduct ranging from groups of youths behave (9)______ aggressively in shopping precincts, to neighbours who don’t clean up after their dogs, to the misuse of fireworks.
