What is the significance of life? Is there any criterion for measuring it? An absolute criterion is of course difficult to establish; it is nevertheless possible to ascertain whether a person has a sense of purpose, by finding out about his attitude towards his work and life. Throughout the history, all people of accomplishment take their lives seriously. As long as they are alive, they refuse to idle away their time, and devote themselves to more work and study. And the same is true of the common laborers as well as the great statesmen and thinkers in our country over ages.
